About this job
Our company Group, a long-running Canadian carrier based in Brockville, ON, is hiring a full-time Local AZ Driver to run local routes in newer automatic Volvo trucks.
Pay
- Up to $25.00 per hour, with regular raises
- Overtime pay and an annual bonus
Schedule
- Full-time, permanent local routes
- Day or night shift options
- Some evening and weekend work may be needed
What you'll do
- Run local delivery routes, picking up and dropping off freight on time and per company procedure
- Load, unload and secure freight so it isn't damaged in transit
- Do pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
- Log deliveries, mileage and fuel use through ELDs or paper records
- Stay in touch with dispatch and warehouse staff to keep schedules on track
- Follow Hours of Service rules, weight limits and other transport regulations
- Deal with customers professionally and represent the company well
- Flag any vehicle issues and handle basic maintenance tasks yourself
Requirements
- Valid AZ licence with a clean driving record
- At least 1 year of AZ driving experience, ideally in local delivery
- Comfortable using ELDs and similar technology
- Able to lift and move freight, including heavier items
- Good communication, customer service, and time-management skills
- Able to stay focused and work well under time pressure
- Based in or willing to relocate to Brockville, ON
