About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A route driver in Agawam, MA to handle daily food and beverage deliveries. You'll be home every day on a 4-day rotating schedule starting at 2:00AM, with hours that may shift based on business needs.
What you'll do
- Safely operate the company vehicle on your assigned delivery route, following all company, state and federal rules
- Learn your route well and understand how to properly handle the products you're delivering
- Get orders to customers on time and flag any issues or suggestions to your Distribution Supervisor
- Keep a daily vehicle log, note any maintenance needs, and complete required DOT and company paperwork
- Track account records and any cash collected accurately each day
- Represent the company professionally and work well with supervisors, managers and teammates
- Help maintain food safety and sanitation standards (SQF/GMP) in your work area, and report any food safety concerns
- Keep your work area and vehicle clean and safe, and handle other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid CDL with at least one year of driving experience, or equivalent classroom training
- Clean MVR and a current medical card
- Able to pass a DOT physical exam
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to read and write in English and identify colors
- Basic math skills
- Neat, clean appearance
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and able to juggle multiple tasks
Working conditions
Expect regular sitting, standing and walking, along with driving various company-owned passenger and commercial vehicles.
