G-Licence Reclaim Driver — $21.75/hr, Toronto

WM is hiring a Reclaim Driver for its Toronto, ON site. You'll drive a company vehicle on assigned routes to pick up customer product, then scan, sort and process unsaleable or recalled goods for clients.

Pay

• Starting wage is $21.75 per hour.

• The expected base pay for this on-site role is $21.75; actual pay can be influenced by your experience, education, training, certifications and work location.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday.

• Monday and Friday shifts start at 7 AM.

• Tuesday through Thursday shifts start at 6:30 PM.

What you'll do

• Run your assigned routes efficiently and make sure customers are serviced on time and to their satisfaction.

• Use a handheld scanner to capture data, and fill out route sheets and other daily paperwork clearly.

• Load and unload boxes onto pallets and into the truck for daily delivery to a food bank or warehouse.

• Follow written route and client instructions, and do basic math as needed.

• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and managers, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.

• Keep accurate logbooks, follow hours of service rules, and complete pre- and post-trip inspections.

• Complete required reports and follow standard operating procedures.

• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid G Licence, with at least 1 year of experience driving a 5-ton or box truck (2 years preferred, ideally including experience with vehicles of at least 3 tons and route management).

• Able to pass a medical exam with a certified medical examiner if operating a CMV/CDL vehicle.

• High school diploma or GED, and a Class B CDL, are preferred but not required.

• This is a safety-sensitive role, so you'll need to follow all safety rules and protocols, and may be subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-incident, reasonable suspicion and random).

Physical demands

Expect standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing throughout your shift. You'll work both indoors (garage, shop or gas plant settings) and outdoors in all weather, including heat and humidity.
