DZ Tri-Axle Dump Truck Driver — $28.25/hr

Our company, part of the Rice Group, is hiring a DZ driver to haul aggregates locally out of their Queensville yard. You'll run a tri-axle dump truck in a busy, fast-paced setting around the GTA.

Pay

• $28.25 per hour

What you'll haul

• Local aggregate loads, dispatched from the Queensville yard

• Tri-axle dump truck work; prior experience with this type of truck or with aggregates is a plus

What the job involves

• Doing a circle check on your truck before each trip to confirm everything mechanical and safety-related is working

• Checking your load before, during and after delivery to make sure it's secured properly

• Positioning the truck for loading and unloading, following the loading crew's signals and placing any special equipment correctly

• Using cab computers and phones to stay in touch with dispatch, supervisors or other drivers

• Keeping accurate logs of your hours and your truck's service and repair history, per provincial rules

• Getting product and paperwork to customers on time and professionally

• Keeping your truck clean and in good shape (supplies provided), and flagging any issues to the onsite mechanics

Requirements

• Valid DZ licence with a clean driver's abstract

• Solid safety and driving history, and a reliable, dependable work style

• Full PPE required each shift: CSA-approved hard hat, safety shirt or vest, and work boots

• Comfortable working long shifts, including flexible hours and weekends

• Physically able to climb a ladder and shovel out the dump box

• Good communication skills with customers, coworkers and dispatch

• Able to navigate and follow directions in heavy-traffic GTA areas

• Fluent English required
