About this job
Our company in Mississauga, ON needs a dependable 5-ton straight truck driver for overnight runs. You'll be in charge of getting freight to its destination on time and keeping the truck in good shape.
Schedule
- Overnight shift, 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM
- Monday through Friday
- Guaranteed minimum payout of $180.00 per shift, even if you finish your routes ahead of schedule
Pay
- $180.00 to $200.00 per day
What you'll do
- Drive a company 5-ton straight truck to deliver goods to assigned stops
- Load and unload freight, making sure everything is secured properly
- Map out your routes to stay on schedule and avoid wasted time
- Check the truck before and after each run and log any maintenance needs
- Keep records of deliveries, mileage and fuel use
- Drive according to Ontario's traffic rules and the company's safety standards
- Stay in touch with dispatch about schedule changes or issues on the road
Requirements
- A valid Ontario DZ license, with 3+ years of driving experience preferred
- Drivers with a standard G license may be considered if they have more than 3 years of commercial driving experience and a clean driving abstract
- Hands-on experience driving a 5-ton straight truck or similar large commercial vehicle
- Ability to lift and handle freight physically, including moving skids of auto parts up to 1,400 lbs with a manual pallet jack or pump truck
- A reliable, punctual and professional approach, with the ability to work independently
Work is based in Mississauga, ON, in person.
