DZ Straight Truck Driver — $27.59/hr, No Dedicated Unit

Erb Group, a long-running refrigerated carrier based in New Hamburg, Ontario, needs a DZ straight truck driver at its Baden terminal to handle local pickups and deliveries of temperature-controlled freight. You'll work Monday to Friday with start times somewhere between 5am and 8am, and you won't be assigned your own truck since slip seating is used.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday

• Start times fall between 5am and 8am

• Erb Group runs 24/7, so actual departure and finish times depend on Hours of Service rules

• Some positions are on call without a fixed start time

• Expect anywhere from 1 to 20 stops per day for pickups and drop-offs

What you'll haul

• Temperature-controlled, perishable freight

• You'll load and unload product yourself, so be ready to bend, lift and carry loads up to 80 lbs

What the job involves

• Driving safely through all road, weather and temperature conditions

• Completing pre- and post-trip inspections and flagging any maintenance needs

• Handling the paperwork tied to each run

• Staying on top of hours-of-service and Ministry of Transportation rules across jurisdictions

• Using the onboard telematics system for electronic logs and dispatch communication

• Attending driver safety meetings

Requirements

• Valid DZ (Class 3) license

• At least 1 year of verifiable driving experience on a DZ/Class 3 license

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and health screening

• Must provide a CVOR, driver's abstract and license copy at your interview

• Clean criminal record check

• Employment references will be verified

• PPE is required and supplied by Erb Group
