Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday

What you'll haul and operate

You'll run a range of equipment for snow and ice control, including tandem trucks, snowplows, sidewalk plows and dump trucks, sanding and clearing municipal roads through the winter. You'll also check your assigned equipment regularly and flag any defects or repairs needed to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • Valid, clean DZ Ontario driver's license, which you must maintain throughout employment
  • Familiarity with road maintenance equipment, methods and procedures
  • Able to follow spoken and written directions
  • Knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act, particularly job hazard analysis and safe work procedures
  • Able to sit for extended periods
  • Comfortable working both solo and as part of a team
  • Able to drive and operate heavy equipment in a range of weather and road conditions
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is a plus, not mandatory
