DZ Seasonal Snowplow Driver — $29.22/hr

Our company needs DZ licensed drivers in Cookstown, ON to run tandem or triaxle plow trucks, including combo plow/spreader units, for the upcoming winter season.

Pay

• $29.22 per hour

• Eligible for paid overtime

Schedule

• Seasonal position for the winter

• Hours vary and include shift work, nights and weekends

• You'll need to be on call on a regular basis

What you'll do

• Run a spreader, plow wing or combo unit on highways during winter conditions

• Complete pre-trip checks, track fuel use and keep accurate records of your winter shifts

• Handle other heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes and skid steers

• Work with smaller tools like steamers, chainsaws and gas-powered equipment when needed

• Take care of basic upkeep and small repairs on your equipment

• Stay on top of safety rules and contract standards

• Keep supervisors and coworkers informed to keep things running smoothly

• Report any crashes, incidents or traffic violations right away

Requirements

• Valid DZ license or equivalent, plus a clean CVOR

• OTM Book 7 training is a plus but not required

• Prior experience with highway maintenance or plowing is a plus

• Strong focus on safety for yourself and others

• Able to load the truck yourself (they'll train you on this)

• Dependable, hard-working and able to work independently

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Able to follow directions

• Physically able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, carry, bend, reach and climb

• Outdoor work in all kinds of weather, with travel between job sites as needed
