About this job
Our company is hiring a DZ Residential Driver/Loader in Oshawa, ON to operate a rear pack collection truck on residential routes. You'll handle curbside waste and recycling collection, run hydraulic packer systems, and keep your route running safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract and CVOR
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience, or completion of an accredited truck driving school program
- Ability to safely operate heavy collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems
- Must meet company safety standards for safety-sensitive roles
- Reliable attendance and flexibility for early morning starts and overtime
What you'll do
- Operate a Rear Pack truck along assigned residential routes
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and required paperwork
- Collect residential waste and recycling per schedule and safety protocols
- Operate compaction systems correctly to avoid equipment damage
- Report mechanical issues, hazards, or safety incidents
- Maintain productivity, service quality, and vehicle cleanliness
- Follow traffic laws, municipal bylaws, and PPE requirements
- Work with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors for smooth operations
