DZ Residential Waste Collection Driver — $27.80/hr

TIPS is hiring on behalf of a long-established waste management company serving governments and industries across several provinces. You'll drive a DZ truck collecting residential waste in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, handling yard waste, recycling (blue box/green bin) and garbage pickup.

Pay

• $27.80 per hour

• Full-time, permanent position

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00am

• Finish times can vary, so you need a flexible schedule

What the job involves

• Collecting multiple waste streams from residential properties, including yard waste, recycling and garbage

• Driving your route to transfer stations, compost facilities or landfill sites on schedule

• Handling 800 to 900 stops per day

• Lifting and loading bags or bins up to 50 lbs into a 2-person truck's hopper or a 1-person side loader

• Returning emptied bins to the same spot on the resident's property, placed upside down at the curb

• Treating residents, coworkers and the public with courtesy and respect

• Following company policies, MTO and Ministry of Environment rules, and local municipal bylaws, since safety lapses can cause property damage or injury

Requirements

• Valid DZ licence with a clean driving abstract and CVOR

• At least 1 year of DZ driving experience

• At least 1 year of construction or labour experience

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and the Occupational Health & Safety Act

• Team-oriented with safe work habits

• Must live in the Niagara area or within 20 minutes of it
