About this job
Our company is hiring a DZ Residential Driver/Loader in Pickering, ON to operate a rear pack collection truck on residential routes. You'll handle curbside waste and recycling pickup, inspections, and equipment operation on a local route.
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ license with clean Driver's Abstract and CVOR
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience, or completion of an accredited truck driving school
- Ability to safely operate collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems
- Must meet safety standards for safety-sensitive roles
- Reliable attendance, flexible for early starts and overtime
What you'll do
- Operate a rear pack truck on assigned residential routes
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete trip logs
- Collect residential waste and recycling per schedule
- Operate hydraulic and compaction systems correctly
- Report mechanical issues, route hazards, or safety incidents
- Maintain productivity, service quality, and vehicle cleanliness
- Follow traffic laws, bylaws, and PPE requirements
- Work with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors
