About this job
Our company needs DZ recycling drivers for routes in Niagara-on-the-Lake. You will run a two-person split rear recycling truck collecting residential recycling (Blue Bins and Grey Bins) or garbage, working outdoors year-round in a hands-on, team-based role.
Pay
- $27.80 per hour
- Overtime after 44 hours
- 4% vacation pay
- Incentive program
- Weekly pay by direct deposit
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 AM
- Shift ends once the day's route is finished
- Expect 10 to 12 hour days as needed
What you'll be doing
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, with defects and safety issues reported right away
- Loading and unloading materials along with driving duties
- Repetitive lifting of 25-50 lbs throughout the shift
- Friendly, professional interaction with residents on the route
- Working as part of a two-person crew in all weather conditions
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence with air brake endorsement (AZ also accepted); new DZ holders are welcome to apply
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- At least 1 year of DZ driving experience and 1 year of route driving experience
- Physically capable of repeated lifting and manual labour; background in construction, landscaping, waste collection, warehouse work or similar labour is a plus
- Safety boots required
- Fluent in English
