About this job
Our company is hiring a Rear Load Garbage Truck Driver/Loader in Kingston, ON to run a new residential waste collection contract for Loyalist Township. You'll drive and help load a rear load truck on residential routes, starting December 1, 2026.
Pay
- $27.00 per hour
- Full-time, about 40 hours per week
- 4/10 schedule, Monday to Thursday, starting at 7 AM
- Start date: November 16, 2026
What you'll do
- Drive a rear load garbage truck along residential collection routes
- Load and compact waste by hand or with help as needed
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and the related paperwork
- Stay alert to pedestrians, traffic and tight property access
- Leave collection sites clean and clear of debris
- Stay in touch with dispatch, supervisors and route staff
- Flag any safety concerns, access problems or materials that don't meet collection rules
- Follow company and regulatory safety procedures
- Deal courteously with residents and property staff
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence with a clean driving record
- 1-2 years of driving experience
- Rear load or waste collection driving experience is a plus
- Experience with bulky or high-volume waste helps
- Solid grasp of safe driving and on-site safety habits
- Able to lift, push and pull heavy loads and handle physical work
- Willing to work outside in any weather
- Dependable, on time, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Good communicator and team player
