DZ Rear Load Garbage Truck Driver — $27/hr, 4-Day Workweek

Join a new residential waste collection contract for Loyalist Township, starting December 1, 2026, based out of Kingston, ON. You'll drive a rear load garbage truck and handle hands-on collection duties along assigned residential routes.

Pay

• $27.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time, unionized position

• Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, starting at 7 AM

• Start date: November 16, 2026

What you'll do

• Drive a rear load garbage truck safely along residential routes

• Load and compact waste manually or with help as needed

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and related paperwork

• Stay alert to pedestrians, traffic and tight property spaces

• Leave collection spots tidy and debris-free

• Stay in contact with dispatch, supervisors and route crew

• Flag any safety concerns, blocked access or improper materials

• Follow company and regulatory safety rules

• Interact professionally with residents and property staff

Requirements

• Valid DZ licence with a clean driving history (DZ preferred)

• 1-2 years of driving experience

• Rear load or waste collection driving experience is a plus

• Experience with bulky or high-volume waste is a plus

• Solid grasp of driving and worksite safety practices

• Able to handle physical tasks like lifting, pushing and pulling heavy loads

• Comfortable working outside in any weather

• Dependable, on time, and able to work without close supervision

• Good communicator who works well with a team
