DZ Hazardous Waste Driver — Hydro-Blasting Required

Our company in Kitchener, ON needs a DZ driver to haul and handle hazardous liquid and solid waste from customer sites. You'll run different vehicles including vacuum trucks and box trucks, and you'll be expected to perform high-pressure water blasting at 15,000 to 40,000 psi.

What you'll do

• Pick up, haul and drop off hazardous waste at customer locations, loading and unloading as needed

• Secure cargo properly and follow safety rules and relevant transport laws

• Carry out water blasting work in the 15,000-40,000 psi range

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks on your vehicle and cargo, flagging any mechanical or safety issues

• Handle paperwork such as manifests, logbooks and bills of lading, on paper or electronically

• Track your hours and your vehicle's maintenance in line with provincial and federal rules

• Back trucks into position with help from loading crews and confirm equipment is placed correctly

• Keep customers informed, clean up any mess from loading or unloading, and report problems to your supervisor

• Help train other staff when asked, plus other tasks as they come up

Requirements

• Certified by a recognized truck driving school

• Valid commercial driver's license, manual transmission

• Willing or able to perform hydro-blasting between 15,000 and 40,000 psi

• Comfortable with overtime, weekend shifts and being on an on-call rotation

• Good mechanical sense and able to handle basic vehicle upkeep

• Organized, clear communicator, able to juggle tasks and manage time well

• Steady and professional under pressure, able to make quick decisions

• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors

• Physically able to lift 75+ lbs and handle hands-on work
