DZ Hazardous Waste Driver — Hydro-Blasting at 15,000–40,000 PSI

Our company in Cambridge, ON is looking for a DZ driver to handle liquid and solid hazardous waste pickups and drop-offs at customer sites. You'll run vacuum trucks, box trucks and other equipment suited to your license, and ideally be ready to do high-pressure water blasting at 15,000 to 40,000 psi.

What you'll do

• Pick up, haul and drop off hazardous waste loads, loading and unloading as needed

• Secure cargo properly and follow safety rules and relevant regulations

• Handle manifests and other required government paperwork

• Inspect your truck and load before, during and after each trip

• Position your vehicle for loading and unloading, working with the loading crew's signals

• Check your truck's mechanical and safety systems before driving

• Report any defects, accidents, violations or vehicle damage

• Track your hours and your vehicle's service record, by hand or electronically, per provincial and federal rules

• Deal with customers and coworkers clearly, on the phone, in person and in writing

• Clean up any debris left from loading or unloading

• Flag customer, mechanical or delivery issues to your supervisor

• Train other staff when asked

• Take on other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license, manual transmission

• Graduate of a recognized truck driving school

• Willing and able to perform water blasting at 15,000-40,000 psi

• Able to work overtime, weekends and rotating on-call shifts

• Solid mechanical sense and able to do basic vehicle upkeep

• Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Able to juggle tasks, prioritize and manage time under pressure

• Honest, hardworking, and calm under stress

• Comfortable making quick decisions in a fast-moving environment

• Willing to work both indoors and outdoors

• Physically able to lift 75+ lbs
