DZ/G Food Service Delivery Driver — From $25.00/hr, Hand Delivery

Bondi Produce & Specialty Foods in Etobicoke, ON needs an experienced local delivery driver who is comfortable doing hands-on, multi-stop deliveries, not just driving. This role involves physically carrying product into restaurants, hotels and other foodservice locations across the GTA and Southern Ontario, in addition to driving.

What the job involves

• Operating a straight truck of 20 feet or larger

• Running multiple stops each day

• Repeatedly getting in and out of the truck

• Hand-bombing: moving product from the truck to the customer's receiving area using a dolly and other equipment

• Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling goods, including on stairs and in tight spaces

• Dealing directly with customers at each stop

• Keeping the truck organized and safe, and completing delivery paperwork

This is a physically demanding role. Expect to spend a large part of each shift outside the truck handling product, not just sitting behind the wheel.

Who fits this role

• At least 5 years of professional local delivery experience

• DZ licence strongly preferred; a G licence may be considered with extensive experience driving straight trucks

• Background in hand-delivery or hand-bombing work

• History of multi-stop routes, ideally to restaurants, hotels, foodservice, grocery or beverage customers

• Experience operating straight trucks of 20 feet or more

• Solid knowledge of the GTA and Southern Ontario

• Clean driving record

• Dependable attendance and punctual

• Able to work up to 6 days a week, including weekends, depending on business needs

• Able to start as early as 5:00 AM

• Comfortable working independently and at a fast pace while following safe lifting and handling practices

• Physically able to carry out the duties described above

• Professional, customer-focused approach

This job is not a fit if your background is mainly long-haul, highway-only, dock-to-dock, terminal-to-terminal, rideshare, parcel courier work, or any driving role where someone else unloads the truck.

Pay

• Starts at $25.00 per hour

• Pay can increase based on experience and after successfully completing probation

• Drivers with DZ or AZ licences and strong foodservice or hand-delivery experience are especially valued
