DZ Expedite Driver — $27.59/hr

Our company, a family-owned refrigerated carrier operating across Canada and the U.S. out of its Baden, ON terminal, is looking for a DZ driver to handle expedited pickups and deliveries of temperature-controlled freight.

Pay

• $27.59/hr

Schedule

• Works every Sunday, plus on-call shifts Monday through Saturday

• Day shift, but as an on-call role there's no fixed start time, and your day can run up to the legal hours-of-service limit

• Erb runs 24/7 with departures daily; expect anywhere from 1 to 20 stops per day

• No dedicated truck - you'll slip seat between available units

What you'll haul

• Refrigerated, temperature-sensitive freight delivered and picked up on a set route schedule

What the job involves

• Safe driving in all weather and road conditions

• Pre- and post-trip inspections to confirm your equipment is roadworthy, and reporting any maintenance needs to the shop

• Keeping dispatch updated on pickups, deliveries and any issues along the way

• Completing all delivery paperwork and following hours-of-service and Ministry of Transportation rules across jurisdictions

• Loading and unloading freight safely and professionally

• Running the onboard telematics unit, including electronic logs and dispatch communication

• Attending required safety meetings

Requirements

• At least 1 year of verifiable driving experience on the required license class

• Must hold the license class needed for this role

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and health screening

• Must provide a CVOR, driver's abstract and license copy at interview

• Reference check and criminal record check required

• Able to bend, lift and carry freight weighing up to 80 lbs

• PPE is provided and required on the job
