DZ Driver/Warehouse Worker — $28–31/hr

Our company in Vaughan, ON is hiring a combined DZ Driver and Warehouse Worker. You'll split your time between delivering slabs and finished products to customers and warehouses, and handling warehouse tasks like loading, packaging and staging material.

What you'll do

• Scan and track slabs, then wrap, box and label finished product for shipment

• Load and unload freight, moving material with forklifts, trucks, overhead cranes and/or railcars

• Help prep goods in the warehouse for outgoing or incoming shipments

• Keep accurate logbooks, daily logs, equipment inspection reports and freight records

• Follow DOT rules on vehicle upkeep, securing cargo and hours of service, along with company safety procedures

• Check incoming and outgoing products for damage and flag any quality issues

• Stay in touch with other shift operators and managers, including check-ins after each delivery stop

• Look for sales opportunities and handle payment collection from customers, vendors or contractors as needed

• Be willing to work longer shifts and take on other tasks as assigned; duties may shift over time based on business needs

Requirements

• At least 3 years in a comparable driving/warehouse role

• Class DZ license held for 3-5 years with a clean record

• Air Brake endorsement

• High school diploma or GED

• Hands-on experience with forklifts, cranes or similar warehouse equipment

• Solid knowledge of DOT cargo securement and load rules

• Able to lift/carry up to 80 lbs and stand for 8+ hours

• Comfortable multitasking in a fast-moving environment

Pay

Starting pay runs $28-31/hr, with the exact rate depending on your location, skills, education and experience. There's also potential for an annual award tied to your performance and the company's results.
