DZ Driver / Material Handler — $24.50/hr Day Shift

Our company in Brampton, ON is looking for a dependable DZ Driver / Material Handler to join the day shift. You'll spend most of your time in the warehouse, with driving duties when needed to cover vacations, sick days, or busier delivery periods.

Pay

• $24.50 per hour

• Expected 40.0 hours per week

What you'll do

• Load and unload goods by hand or with basic equipment like dollies, hand trucks, pallet lifters, forklifts, strapping machines, and industrial lift trucks

• Drop off orders at customer locations, handling all the required paperwork along the way

• Keep up with daily records: driver logs, vehicle checks, delivery slips, and hours-of-service tracking

• Check your vehicle before trips and flag any issues, damage, accidents, or violations

• Make sure every load is secured, shielded from the weather, and meets safety rules

• Manage how cargo is loaded and prepped, following safety and legal requirements

• Line up your vehicle properly at loading docks, taking direction from warehouse staff

• Use onboard tools like cab computers, radios, and phones to stay in touch with dispatch and supervisors

Requirements

• Valid Class 3 (D) driver's licence with Z air brake endorsement

• Graduate of a recognized truck driving school

• Comfortable driving safely through all weather using defensive driving habits

• Good teamwork and communication skills with customers and dispatch

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Solid with numbers, recordkeeping, and following detailed information

• Fluent in spoken and written English

• Familiar with computers and computerized inventory systems

• Background working with material handling equipment

• Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs

• Class 3 licence and air brake endorsement preferred; a year of warehouse experience is a plus
