About this job
Our company in Oshawa, ON needs a DZ driver to haul scrap and garbage loads from jobsites across the GTA to drop-off locations. You'll be a key part of keeping operations running smoothly and safely.
Pay
- From $30.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 45.0 to 50.0 per week
What you'll haul
- Scrap and garbage loads, picked up from GTA jobsites and delivered to designated drop-off points
What you'll do
- Drive commercial trucks safely between jobsites and drop-off areas
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, flagging any maintenance or safety concerns
- Keep accurate records of pickups, deliveries and mileage
- Stay in contact with dispatch and staff to coordinate schedules and sort out any issues
- Handle basic troubleshooting or minor repairs to keep the truck running well
- Tarp and secure loads as needed
- Follow traffic laws, safety rules and company procedures on every run
Requirements
- Valid DZ license with a clean driving record
- 3 to 5 years of commercial driving experience
- Comfortable with paperwork and detail-oriented inspections
- Physically able to tarp and secure loads and carry out vehicle checks
- Good communication skills for working with dispatch, coworkers and clients
