About this job
Our company is looking for a DZ Delivery Driver to handle deliveries and pickups of building products to customers across Ontario. You'll be the face of the company on the road, so professional, friendly customer service matters as much as safe driving.
What you'll do
- Inspect your truck and complete daily logs
- Drive safely in line with Ontario and MTO rules
- Deliver and pick up products at customer sites
- Collect payments from customers
- Load and unload freight, materials and equipment by hand or with powered/unpowered equipment
- Keep your work area clean and follow health and safety procedures
- Take on other tasks as needed, including occasional overtime
What you'll haul
Exterior building products such as aluminum and steel rain-ware, siding, roofing, windows and tools, delivered to client locations throughout Ontario.
Schedule
Expect 40.0 to 47.5 hours per week, with hours varying by branch and season. Each shift includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break plus two paid 15-minute breaks. Overtime may be required, and hours run longer during the busy season from May through December.
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence with a clean driving record
- At least 3 years of driving experience in a DZ role
- Forklift experience and certification is a plus
- Comfortable driving in all weather conditions
- Good communication, organization and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willing to work overtime and adapt to changing departmental needs
- Capable of lifting up to 22 kgs, along with bending, twisting, climbing, pushing/pulling and working at heights
Work environment
You'll be exposed to outdoor conditions year-round, including rain, snow and temperature extremes, plus time in a warehouse area with forklifts, bedmovers and delivery trucks moving around. Noise levels are moderate.
Required safety gear includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat, with most items supplied by the company.
Benefits
- Competitive pay plus merit bonuses and an annual incentive program
- Paid sick days
- Group health, dental, life and AD&D coverage
- Reimbursement for prescription safety glasses and safety shoes
- Company-matching Group RRSP/DPSP contributions
- Employee referral program
