DZ Delivery Driver — Local Routes, Oshawa, ON

Our company needs a DZ delivery driver to run local routes out of Oshawa, Ontario. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday day shift starting at 7am, with weekend availability needed.

What you'll haul

• General freight delivered and picked up at customer sites across Ontario

• You'll secure loads yourself with straps, chains and load bars

• Some stops require hand-bombing, meaning manual loading and unloading, plus using power and manual pallet jacks or pump trucks

Schedule

• Days, Monday through Friday, starting at 7am

• Weekend availability required

• Must be flexible for overtime, weekend work or overnight runs when operations call for it

Requirements

• Valid DZ licence

• Bondable and legally able to work in Canada

• Clean CVOR and driver's abstract

• At least 3 months to 1 year of recent, verifiable commercial driving experience, with a minimum of 1 year of DZ experience specifically

• Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions

• Solid grasp of hours-of-service rules, road safety and how to secure loads properly

• Able to fill out eLogs, inspection reports and delivery paperwork accurately

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 75 lbs at some locations

• Good customer service and communication skills, with a safety-first mindset

• Familiarity with Oshawa and the surrounding area

What the job involves

• Driving company vehicles safely to move freight throughout Ontario

• Running tractor-trailer equipment per company and regulatory rules

• Doing full pre-trip and post-trip checks (tires, brakes, lights, cargo securement) and flagging problems to maintenance right away

• Keeping accurate logs, inspection reports and incident reports

• Staying compliant with hours-of-service and safety policies
