About this job
Our company is hiring a DZ/AZ driver in Aurora, ON to run residential garbage and recycling routes on a Manual Side Loader truck. You'll be out front on curbside pickups each day, working alongside Helpers and reporting in to the Terminal Supervisors.
What you'll do
- Run a Manual Side Loader on your assigned residential routes
- Do pre-trip and post-trip checks and log your trips daily
- Keep to the pickup schedule for trash and recycling, following safety rules
- Run the hydraulic and compaction systems carefully so equipment isn't damaged
- Flag any mechanical problems or safety incidents right away
- Keep your truck clean and stay productive while delivering solid service
- Coordinate with your Helper and Terminal Supervisor
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ license, with a clean abstract and CVOR
- Minimum 1 year behind the wheel commercially, or a diploma from an accredited truck driving school
- Comfortable and safe running heavy collection machinery
- Good attendance history, and open to early start times and overtime as needed
