About this job
Niagara Ready Mix, part of the Rankin Construction Group, needs a DZ or AZ licensed operator to run a concrete conveyor truck across Southern Ontario job sites. You'll place concrete on residential, commercial, industrial and heavy civil projects, working closely with plant staff, dispatch and site supervisors.
Pay
- Starting from $29.00 per hour, with wages set based on experience
- Overtime hours are available
- Year-round work, offered as full-time or part-time
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, with weekend shifts as needed
- Overtime when it comes up
- Local routes, so you're home most evenings
What you'll haul
You'll deliver and place concrete using the truck's conveyor system at a variety of construction sites throughout Southern Ontario.
What you'll do
- Run daily pre-trip, post-trip and equipment checks
- Set up, run and clean the conveyor gear after every job
- Handle basic upkeep and flag any mechanical issues
- Climb ladders, move hoses and manage setup/teardown tasks
- Keep to MTO rules, OHSA standards and company safety policy
- Represent the company well on customer sites
Requirements
- Valid Ontario DZ or AZ driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract and CVOR record
- Comfortable driving a manual transmission
- Background running commercial trucks
- 2 years of experience in Ready Mix or concrete work (required)
- 1 year running a conveyor truck is a plus
- Solid communication skills and a reliable attendance record
- Fine working outside in all kinds of weather
Having any of these gives you an edge: prior conveyor truck or Ready Mix experience, boom pump or concrete placement work, heavy equipment operation, a construction or heavy civil background, mechanical skills, Working at Heights, WHMIS, or First Aid/CPR certification.
