DZ/AZ Boom Truck Operator — $29.18–$34.42/hr

Yvon Building Supply in Burlington, ON needs a Boom Truck Operator to haul building materials to job sites and place them using a mobile crane. You'll handle the delivery, the crane work and some light site coordination with customers and trades.

Pay

• $29.18 to $34.42 per hour

What you'll do

• Run circle-checks and fill in your logbook before each trip

• Drive loads to job sites safely and professionally, representing the company well on the road

• Keep the truck and boom/mobile crane maintained and serviced

• Check that loads are secure and correct before and during transport

• Operate the boom/mobile crane safely to load and unload materials at job sites

• Talk with customers and other trades on site to coordinate deliveries

• Stay in touch with dispatch and help sort out issues as they come up

• Get the truck ready for the next load and help out in the warehouse when needed

• Follow company policy and all applicable regulations

• Take on other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

• Valid DZ/AZ license (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of driving experience and a clean driving abstract

• 0-8 ton mobile crane certification with at least 1 year of experience

• Solid written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable working alone or as part of a team

• Basic math skills

• Basic hand tool skills

• Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs

• Able to sit and drive for extended periods

• Able to climb stairs frequently and to push, pull, bend and twist while moving materials between the truck and job site
