About this job
Our company, based near Exeter in Huron Park, needs a driver to run one of its waste and recycling trucks on scheduled routes. You'll report to the Fleet Manager and use an automated arm with joystick to collect materials, then haul them to the material recovery facility or landfill.
Pay
- Starting at $30.82 per hour, with yearly increases.
- Overtime kicks in after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
- Double time on weekends and holidays.
- A clothing allowance is included.

What you'll haul
- Solid waste and recyclable material picked up along your route using the vehicle's automated joystick-controlled arm.
- You'll weigh each load on the scale, logging gross, tare, and net weights at every stop, then drop materials at the recovery facility or landfill.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, starting around 6:00am.
- Shifts run 8 to 12 hours depending on the day's workload, and your hours can shift based on business needs.
- You'll work all statutory holidays except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Requirements
- Valid DZ license with at least 2 years of recent full-time driving experience in that class.
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract.
- Joystick or side-loader experience is a plus, though not required.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and working well with others.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, sit for long stretches, and work in loud, hot, or odorous conditions.
