About this job
Manitoulin Transport needs an incorporated owner-operator with a 5-ton DZ straight truck to run local pickup and delivery around Sudbury. This is a contracted business arrangement, not an employee role, so you'll be operating as your own carrier partner.
What you'll haul
- LTL freight moving within the local Sudbury terminal area
- Some dock loading and unloading may be part of the job
Schedule
- Typically 5 days a week, with occasional weekend work
- You'll need to stay flexible with your availability
Pay
- Compensation runs on an incentive-based service rate tied to productivity, giving strong earners the chance at a solid gross settlement
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence
- A minimum of 1 year behind the wheel
- A clean criminal background check, current driver's abstract, and 2 references on file
- Your own mechanically sound 5-ton straight truck, ELD-equipped and up to carrier standards
- WCB coverage under your business
- Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations
- Forklift certification, TDG, and WHMIS training are a plus but not mandatory
