About this job
We're looking for a reliable dump truck driver to haul materials like gravel, dirt and construction debris between job sites. You'll be trusted to keep deliveries moving safely and on schedule while following all required safety rules.
Pay
- $26.00-$30.00 per hour
What you'll do
- Haul loads to assigned sites, following traffic laws and safety procedures
- Check your truck before and after each trip, looking at fluids, brakes, tires and lights
- Load and unload materials using proper methods and equipment
- Keep records of your runs, fuel use, mileage and any maintenance needs
- Stay in touch with site supervisors to coordinate schedules and sort out problems
- Handle small maintenance tasks like oil changes, and flag bigger mechanical issues right away
- Secure your loads properly and follow OSHA safety standards
Requirements
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record
- Experience running dump trucks or similar heavy equipment, ideally in construction or mining
- Understanding of freight handling and heavy equipment operation
- Comfortable doing basic repairs or troubleshooting on the truck
- Forklift experience is a plus for loading and unloading
- Solid grasp of safety rules for commercial driving and heavy equipment
- Able to handle long hours behind the wheel, lift heavy loads and complete inspections
