Our company Furniture and Appliances in Kenora, ON is looking for a Warehouse & Transportation Handler to deliver furniture and appliances to guests' homes while also helping out in the warehouse. This role combines driving, physical handling of large products, and customer service.
Pay
- $22 per hour
- $1000 signing bonus
What you'll do
- Drive a scheduled delivery route and bring products to guests' homes, assembling items when needed
- Handle deliveries carefully to avoid damaging products or guests' homes
- Receive incoming product, returns, accessories and supplies, and prepare outbound shipments
- Get products ready for delivery or for placement on the sales floor
- Keep accurate inventory records for both the warehouse and the sales floor
- Take care of basic store upkeep (changing light bulbs, patching walls, handling trash, cleaning, and similar handyman tasks)
- Maintain the outside of the store, including mowing grass and shoveling snow
- Log deliveries using a tablet and take the required photos
- Report any mechanical or other issues with the delivery truck
- Follow all safety procedures and the regulations that apply to commercial truck drivers at the federal, provincial and municipal level
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Valid Class G driver's license with a clean driving record (air brake endorsement is a plus)
- 6 months to 1 year of delivery driving experience; experience moving large or heavy items is preferred
- Comfortable using hand tools
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Good attention to detail
- Physically able to lift and move items up to 100 pounds
- Strong customer service skills
- Available to work retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Must wear safety footwear
- Must pass a criminal record check
