About this job
Our company is hiring a Delivery Driver Apprentice out of its Thorold, ON depot. This role is a stepping stone: you'll work as a helper alongside experienced drivers while gradually upgrading your license from DZ to AZ, potentially within a year.
Pay
- $22.44 per hour to start
Schedule
- 10-13 hour workdays, 4 days a week
- Shifts fall Monday through Saturday, starting around 3:00am-5:00am
- Home every day on local routes
What you'll do
- Handle up to 18 stops per day at places like restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, colleges and grocery stores
- Hand-unload and hand-wheel food products into customer sites, using ramps and sometimes stairs
- Confirm deliveries are accurate at each stop
- Represent the company professionally and build strong customer relationships
- Follow safety rules and company procedures
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid G license with a clean driving record
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull and stack items weighing up to 90 lbs, with or without a dolly
- Comfortable working in varied weather and road conditions
- Fluent in English with strong communication and time-management skills
- Manual labor experience is a plus
