Cross-Border Truck Driver — $25–$30/hr, Home Weekends

Our company, which manufactures pre-engineered steel buildings, needs a driver for local runs plus longer hauls that sometimes cross into the US. Weekends are yours, though you'll stay out overnight when a run calls for it.

Pay

• $25.00-$30.00 per hour

• Plan on about 44.0 hours a week

Home time

• Weekends off

• Some overnight stays when a delivery schedule needs it

What you'll haul

• Materials for pre-engineered steel buildings and related loads

• Loading and unloading with a telehandler, skid steer or forklift

Requirements

• Valid CDL with the right endorsements for the equipment you'll run

• Background running heavy trucks, whether local or over the road

• Comfortable with heavy lifting during load and unload

• Solid grasp of traffic rules and safe driving practices

• Prior logistics or transport work is a bonus, not a must, if you're driven to learn

• Forklift ticket helps but isn't required - they'll train you

• Knuckle boom know-how also a plus, with training available

• Mechanical sense to catch issues with the truck before they become problems

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial trucks safely from point to point

• Load, unload, and tie down freight properly for the road

• Run pre-trip and post-trip checks on your rig

• Keep delivery paperwork and logs up to date

• Stay in touch with dispatch and customers about timing

• Make occasional crossings into the USA for pickups or drop-offs

• Pitch in on upkeep of the truck and flag anything that needs fixing

• Spend non-delivery days working in the shop
