Cross-Border AZ Highway Driver — $27.59/hr

Erb Group, a family-owned refrigerated carrier with more than 65 years in business, is hiring AZ/Class 1 drivers for cross-border highway runs out of Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC. You will haul temperature-controlled freight between Canada and the U.S. and move product between terminals. Pay is $27.59 an hour.

Pay

• $27.59 an hour; the company says full-time drivers can average up to $93,000+ a year.

• Overtime is paid, and there is a profit-sharing opportunity.

Routes and schedule

• Most Canadian work is in Ontario and Quebec; in the U.S., newly hired drivers mostly run the eastern seaboard, with some Western and Eastern Canada runs and possible U.S. reloads.

• Expect to be away from home up to 1 week at a time.

• Operations run 24/7 with daily departures; start times follow hours-of-service limits and there is no fixed end time.

• You can bid on posted dedicated runs, awarded by seniority; otherwise you work the open board and are dispatched as needed.

What you'll do

• Drive safely in all weather and temperatures and deliver on schedule.

• Plan your trips on long-haul runs and carry out pre-trip inspections.

• Load and unload freight, check labelling and complete paperwork.

• Stay in contact with dispatch and the shop, use the onboard electronic log and attend safety meetings.

• Follow hours-of-service rules in every jurisdiction you drive in.

Requirements

• Valid AZ/Class 1 license and at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience on it.

• A FAST card or valid passport for U.S. crossings.

• Pass a drug test, health survey, reference check, criminal record check, PSP and FMCSA Clearinghouse results.

• Bring your CVOR, driver abstract and a copy of your license to the interview.

• PPE is supplied by the company.
