Commercial Truck Driver — $23.76–$28.61/hr

This role covers hauling freight, and sometimes vehicles, using whatever truck and trailer type your route calls for, with both local and long-distance runs possible.

What you'll haul

• Refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks

• General freight and, at times, automobiles

• Loading and unloading cargo by hand or with a forklift when you're trained to use one

Pay

• $23.76 to $28.61 per hour

• Scheduled for about 22 to 38 hours a week

Requirements

• Commercial driving credentials matching the vehicle and route you're assigned

• Comfortable driving a manual transmission if the route requires it

• Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA rules, plus hazmat regulations for regulated loads

• Nice to have: experience with delivery routes, OTR driving, refrigerated or flatbed trailers, tankers, dump or roll-off trucks, auto transport, and forklift operation

Responsibilities

• Plan routes with GPS and keep shipments on schedule

• Inspect your vehicle and secure cargo before every trip

• Flag any safety issues, delays, or cargo problems right away
