Class A City Truck Driver — $32.20–$37.27/hr

Our company is hiring a Class A City Driver in Colorado Springs, CO to move freight between service centers and customers on local routes. This role pays $32.20 - $37.27 per hour.

Pay

• Starting rate of $32.20 per hour, with a range up to $37.27 per hour

• If you're assigned linehaul work, mileage pay runs 0.7377 - 0.8539 per mile, plus fixed amounts for certain linehaul tasks based on a fraction of your hourly rate

What you'll haul

• Tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable, as well as straight trucks

• General freight between our company service centers and customer locations

• Loads may include hazardous materials under DOT regulation

What you'll do

• Complete pre-trip and safety checks on your equipment

• Hook and unhook trailers and converter dollies

• Load and secure freight using pallets, straps, rope, forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks

• Handle required paperwork and, when needed, collect payment for freight charges

• Stay in contact with dispatch about delays, arrivals or equipment issues

• Talk with customers about pickup and delivery needs and help identify new business opportunities

Requirements

• Class A CDL with doubles/triples, hazmat and tank endorsements (hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of hire)

• One year of driving experience in the last three years, or completion of the our company Driver Development Course

• Acceptable motor vehicle record and compliance with DOT/FMCSA Section 391 standards

• Able to lift freight up to 100 pounds multiple times a week and handle extended sitting, bending and climbing

• Basic math, reading and communication skills
