Class 5 Delivery Truck Driver — $18.17/hr Starting

Our company in Charlottetown, PE is looking for a delivery driver to haul building materials to homes and job sites, while also lending a hand in the yard, warehouse and store. It's a physically active role that keeps you moving between driving, loading and customer service.

Pay

• Starting wage of $18.17 per hour, based on experience

What you'll haul

• Windows, doors, cement, shingles and other building supplies, delivered safely to private homes and construction sites

What you'll do

• Load and unload materials, and get trucks ready for loading

• Help out in the lumber yard, warehouse and store, assisting customers directly

• Check your vehicle for safety and keep up with maintenance needs

• Stay in touch with dispatch to sort out any issues that come up

• Confirm that loads are secure and accurate before and during delivery

• Report any mechanical problems, violations, accidents or injuries

• Follow company policies and safety procedures, and take on other tasks as your manager assigns them

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 driver's license

• Previous experience driving for deliveries

• Able to lift up to 55 lbs

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and in a fast-paced environment

• Punctual, reliable and safety-focused

• High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; being bilingual in English and French is a plus

• Basic hand tool knowledge
