About this job
Our company is looking for a Floater School Bus Driver to cover routes as needed between their Cold Lake and Bonnyville yards. You'll get free personalized training and a schedule that gives you summers, weekends and holidays off.
Pay
- $24.50 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 6 hours per day
- $3,000 hiring bonus for drivers who already hold a Class 2S licence: $1,500 paid after 3 months on the job, and the remaining $1,500 after 9 months
- Extra bonuses for referrals, safety and perfect attendance
Schedule
- Part-time, permanent position
- Split shifts, 6:30 am to 9:30 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday (times may shift depending on route needs)
- You need to be ready to help out at either the Cold Lake or Bonnyville yard whenever required
What you'll do
- Cover whatever routes are assigned to you
- Complete required wheelchair training
- Take on other non-driving tasks during your shift as needed
- Drive safely in all weather and road conditions, and keep your route binder current
- Stay in contact with dispatch using proper radio procedures, and be ready at your assigned yard at the set time
- Handle passenger behavior issues and report any bus misconduct to the school when needed
- Follow the specific policies of each school board you work with
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 or 2S driver's licence with at least 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Strong familiarity with Cold Lake, Bonnyville and the surrounding area
- A clean 10-year commercial driver's abstract
- Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check
