Class 1 Truck Driver — Home Daily, $30.00/hr

Our company is a scrap metal recycling company in Red Deer, AB, and they need a Class 1 truck driver to move freight around Central Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton. You'll be home every day, with shifts running Monday to Friday until 5 PM.

Pay

• $30.00 per hour

• Expected hours: 45.0 per week

Home time

• You're home at the end of every shift, Monday through Friday, with shifts ending by 5 PM

What you'll haul

• Scrap metal and related freight, hauled between Central Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton

• You'll load and unload material by hand or with trucks, tractors and other equipment, and secure loads with ropes, blocks, chains or covers

• Expect to climb in and out of trucks and move around truck beds, trailers and scrap containers, in all weather

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 licence

• 5 years of commercial driving experience

• Clean 5-year driver's abstract

• Comfortable with pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, load security) and keeping accurate delivery and vehicle logs

• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills to handle minor issues on the road

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on uneven ground around the yard

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience at an industrial or recycling site is a plus, but not required

• Good communication skills for working with dispatch, clients and the team
