About this job
Our company is looking for a Class 1 truck driver to haul freight on short and long routes while keeping equipment and deliveries running smoothly.
What you'll do
- Drive a Class 1 commercial truck over various routes, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Load and unload cargo with a forklift or other heavy equipment, making sure it's secured properly
- Check your vehicle before and after each trip, handle minor repairs yourself, and flag bigger maintenance issues right away
- Fill out paperwork such as bills of lading, delivery receipts and inspection reports
- Work with dispatch to map out routes and keep deliveries on schedule
- Keep accurate logs of your hours, fuel use, maintenance and freight details
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with a clean driving history
- Prior experience driving commercial trucks, ideally in freight or logistics
- Comfortable operating a forklift
- Familiarity with heavy equipment and basic vehicle repair
- Able to carry out routine inspections and small fixes as needed
- Organized and detail-oriented when it comes to paperwork and safety steps
- Good communication skills for working with dispatch and customers
