About this job
Our company in Edmonton, AB is looking for a Class 1 truck driver to haul freight safely and keep deliveries on schedule. You'll handle the truck, the paperwork and some basic upkeep along the way.
Pay
- $5,000.00-$7,500.00 per month
- Full-time, permanent position
What you'll do
- Drive trucks and deliver freight to assigned destinations
- Check the vehicle before and after each trip to confirm it's safe and compliant
- Load and unload cargo, using a forklift or other equipment when needed
- Keep accurate logs of hours driven and vehicle upkeep
- Stay in touch with dispatch about schedules and any problems on the road
- Follow traffic laws, safety rules and company policy at all times
- Take care of small repairs and routine maintenance on the truck
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (CDL) license with proven commercial driving experience
- Comfortable working independently with good attention to detail and organization
- Forklift or heavy equipment experience is a plus
- Background in freight or logistics work is a plus
- Some knowledge of basic vehicle repair is helpful
