Our company in St. John's, NL is hiring full-time, permanent Class 1 tractor-trailer drivers, with an immediate start possible. You would run long-haul and city work in a maintained fleet with steady loads.
Pay
- Paid per mile at $0.51 to $0.58, depending on your experience.
- The posting also quotes a yearly range of $75,000 to $150,000.
What you'll do
- Operate straight or articulated trucks and move freight, including dangerous goods and tarped loads.
- Inspect the vehicle before, during and after each trip.
- Use GPS to adjust routes and save fuel.
- Load and unload, and keep records of cargo, hours of service, distance and fuel.
- Stay in touch with central dispatch and deal with customer concerns professionally.
- Sometimes drive in a two-person team or convoy.
Requirements
- Class 1 (AZ/Class A) licence with air brakes endorsement.
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
- High school graduation certificate.
- Willingness to pass background checks and drug testing.
- Be on site in Saint John's for a road test and in-person interview.
- Bring your own hard hat, steel-toed boots and gloves.
