About this job
Farlinger & Associates, a Canadian civil construction company based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, needs a Class 1 Lowbed Driver to move heavy machinery between job sites across western Canada. You'll run out of the Strathcona County yard and work extended hours, including weekends, in all weather conditions.
Pay
- $120,000.00 per year
What you'll haul
- Excavators, loaders, tracked crawlers, dozers, snowcats and tractors on a lowbed trailer
- You'll load, unload and secure each piece with chains, tarps and straps, and pull any permits the haul requires
What you'll do
- Keep the truck in good shape with daily pre-trip inspections and routine upkeep
- Stay current on e-logs, hazard assessments and time sheets
- Join toolbox talks and safety meetings, and work closely with the rest of the crew
Requirements
- At least a year of experience pulling multi-axle jeeps, boosters or trailers while hauling heavy equipment
- Valid Class 1 license with an air brake endorsement, plus a clean 5-year commercial driving abstract
- Familiarity with heavy equipment used in construction
- Comfortable working up to 12-hour days, outdoors, in any weather, and willing to travel to remote sites (accommodations provided when needed)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Current or willingness to obtain: CSTS with OSSA Regional Orientation (or OSSA BSO/CSO), First Aid, H2S Alive, HOS, Cargo Securement and TDG certifications
