About this job
Our company, based in Calgary, AB, needs Class 1 flatbed drivers for cross-border runs between Canada and the U.S. This is a full-time, permanent position with dedicated trucks.
Pay
- Starting from $30.00 per hour
- Extra pay for safety bonus, layover, detention, extra picks/drops, tarping and inspections
- Paid training
- Payroll by direct deposit twice a month
What you'll haul
- Flatbed loads on cross-border lanes between the U.S. and Canada
What you'll do
- Drive company trucks to move goods and materials safely
- Plan your routes and get deliveries there on time
- Secure freight, tarp loads, install tire chains and throw straps as needed
- Do routine truck inspections and basic upkeep, and report mechanical problems or accidents
- Keep accurate logs of deliveries, mileage and fuel use
- Communicate well and provide good customer service
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 licence
- About 1 year of commercial driving experience, flatbed experience preferred
- Clean driving record/abstract
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Physically able to handle freight-securing tasks
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and able to manage your time and work independently
- Based in or able to work out of Calgary, AB
