About this job
Our company, a Winnipeg-based carrier, is adding Class 1 drivers to run freight between Canada and the United States. New and experienced drivers can apply, and training is available for people just starting out.
Pay
- $8,000.00-$9,000.00 per month
- Paid every two weeks
What you'll do
- Drive freight safely across Canada and the US, following federal, provincial and state rules
- Plan your routes and handle pickup and delivery timing
- Inspect the vehicle before, during and after each trip
- Keep electronic and written logs, trip reports and other required paperwork
- Work with dispatch and customers, and follow company safety procedures
- Make sure cargo is secure and report any equipment problems, delays, incidents or safety concerns right away
Requirements
- Class 1 licence
- Clean driver's abstract and criminal record check
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Good spoken and written communication
- A strong commitment to safety and compliance
- A US visa is listed as required, and the company says it helps drivers get one
Nice to have
- Long-haul experience
- Reefer experience
- Familiarity with ELDs and trucking technology
- Good customer service skills
