About this job
Our company is hiring an experienced Class 1 driver for a year-round job in Ste. Anne, MB. You will haul scrap metal in the warmer months and switch to log hauling in winter, so the work changes with the season.
What you'll haul
- Spring through fall: scrap metal in semis and Super-B trailers
- Winter: logs from harvest sites to mills on log trailers, done in Alberta
- Winter work includes a rotation of out-of-town runs
Daily duties
- Fill out your daily logs, pre-trip and post-trip inspections and DVIRs
- Stay in contact with dispatch and keep to the schedule
- Handle weight distribution and load security properly
Pay and hours
- $25.00-$35.00 per hour
- Expected 50.0 – 60.0 hours per week
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 licence with a clean commercial driver's abstract
- At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience
- Solid knowledge of weight distribution, load security and safety rules
- Comfortable working through changing road, weather and terrain conditions
