About this job
Our company is hiring a Class 1/3 heavy vehicle driver to move aircraft components and materials around its Dorval facility, including transporting dangerous goods and high-value aeronautical parts.
What you'll do
- Drive a heavy vehicle (26 feet, 33,000 lb, with 6 or 10 wheels) around the plant and airport areas
- Operate a forklift and an overhead crane to move materials and aircraft parts
- Move aircraft both inside the facility and externally, including airport areas
- Transport dangerous materials and high-value aeronautical parts safely
- Complete routine inspection checks and keep a simplified logbook for the heavy vehicle
- Lift or push/pull loads of roughly 20 kg
- Work closely with other drivers and support the team as needed
- Complete required classroom and online training
Requirements
- Valid CVL Class 1 or 3 heavy vehicle license with at least 2 years of experience
- At least 3 years of overall transportation experience (forklift, mules, or truck)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean SAAQ driving record
- Dangerous goods transport experience is a plus, as is WHMIS training
- Safe and professional driving behavior, with good judgment under pressure and flexibility for changing priorities
