About this job
Our company in Medford, MA is looking for a commercial truck driver to run regional and over-the-road routes. You'll handle multiple trailer types and freight, keeping deliveries on time and within safety rules.
What you'll haul
- Tractor-trailers, reefers, flatbeds and tankers
- Freight types include refrigerated goods, automobiles, flatbed loads and tanker shipments, as well as hazmat and other dangerous goods when required
What you'll do
- Drive OTR routes, using GPS to plan efficient schedules
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and log any mechanical or safety concerns
- Load, unload and secure freight by hand to avoid shifting or damage in transit
- Stay in touch with dispatch for route changes and delivery status
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA and hazmat handling rules
Requirements
- Valid CDL with endorsements matching the freight you'll haul
- Clean driving record
- Experience driving tractor-trailers, reefers, flatbeds and tankers
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks
- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and hazmat regulations
- Able to navigate using GPS and manage loading/unloading tasks
- Experience with refrigerated or automobile freight is a plus
