About this job
Our company is looking for an experienced CDL truck driver to haul freight on OTR routes out of Calhoun, GA. You'll work with a mix of equipment, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers and refrigerated trailers, so versatility matters.
Pay
- $3,000.00 - $6,000.00 per week
What you'll haul
- General freight plus specialty loads such as hazardous materials, tanker cargo and flatbed shipments
- You'll load and unload freight by hand when needed and make sure everything is secured correctly for the road
What the job involves
- Running OTR routes and planning your trips with GPS to stay on time and fuel-efficient
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks to catch maintenance or safety concerns early
- Keeping accurate logs for hours of service, delivery paperwork and cargo manifests under DOT rules
- Staying in close contact with dispatch to coordinate deliveries and flag any delays
Requirements
- Valid CDL with endorsements matching the equipment you'll drive (such as Hazmat or Tanker)
- Solid background driving commercial trucks on route or OTR work
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks and manual freight handling
- Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT compliance, along with hazmat rules
- Experience with reefers, flatbeds, tankers or auto-hauling is a plus
- Clean driving record with a strong safety track record
