Run your own truck as an Owner-Operator on a dedicated Indianapolis to Chicago lane and surrounding areas. You'll manage your own schedule and handle freight deliveries while staying compliant with DOT and FMCSA rules.
Pay
- $3,750.00 - $5,950.00 per week
What you'll haul
- Freight moved primarily between Indianapolis and Chicago and nearby areas
- You'll load and unload cargo following standard logistics handling procedures
What the job involves
- Operating your commercial truck safely on the dedicated lane
- Using GPS to plan efficient routes and hit delivery windows
- Keeping up communication and service with customers along the way
- Running routine checks on your truck and flagging mechanical problems early
- Staying current with DOT and FMCSA rules at all times
Requirements
- Valid CDL with a hazmat endorsement
- Solid background in commercial driving, including tractor-trailer delivery and route work
- Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Comfortable driving a manual transmission and handling cargo manually
- Skilled with GPS navigation for OTR route planning
- Familiar with proper loading and unloading practices
- Clean driving record; prior delivery driving experience is a plus
