About this job
Our company is looking for an over-the-road driver to run tractor-trailers, flatbeds, reefers and tankers on long-haul lanes. You'll handle a mix of freight types, including hazmat loads, while keeping deliveries on time and compliant with federal rules.
Pay
- $0.60 to $0.65 per mile
What you'll haul
- Freight moved on tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and tankers
- Hazardous materials and other dangerous goods, following required safety protocols
- Loads that may need manual loading and unloading
What you'll do
- Run OTR routes using GPS to plan efficient paths
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks for mechanical issues and load security
- Keep accurate hours-of-service, delivery and cargo paperwork per FMCSA rules
- Stay in contact with dispatch on schedules, route updates and delays
Requirements
- Valid CDL; hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
- Prior experience driving trucks, making deliveries or hauling freight
- Comfortable with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and vehicle transport work a plus
- Able to drive manual transmission trucks and do manual freight handling
- Solid knowledge of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat safety rules
- Clean driving record
